Bebé Trio's art skills have been developing as well as her social and language skills. Enjoy the pics of the artwork that she has produced.

June 12, 2009

This has been an artful week! Let's dive right in for all of the new arty developments!

Bebe Trio's rendition of a dog swimming! Note the familiar fish and the big big waves!

This is Bebe Trio's first self portrait! There are many interesting things to note: the balls for hands, the central lump on her head for her pulled-back bangs, and the three buttons on her torso. What?!? A torso? This is the first bonhomme with a torso, too!

Yet another dog from Bebe Trio. But, this one has writing, a long long tail, and an up-right torso!

She completed the drawing with the words, "is fun." And, man is that FUN!

Here is a detail fo the tail, long, buttons, glommed together kind of like a belly button, and legs, three on the ground and one in the air.

I leave you with a pig she made at school. I love the way the eyes seem like they're looking up and to the right and the big big smile!

We're back! We've got a new type of drawing with new figures and now... action! Dig this!

This is a picture of a person swimming with a fish. Let's break it down by its parts and details!

This is a fish! And the three dots to the left are air bubbles, POP! POP! POP!

This is the swimmer in water complete with waves! Look how happy the swimmer is!

Can you believe how much her drawing has developed during the school year? She's amazing!

I can only hope that you're as big a fan of Bebé Trio's artwork as I am and can enjoy or at the very least tolerate all the minutiae of her drawings. I was lucky enough to take these as she was drawing. Check out the expanding repertoire of details!

Here she is hard at work on a new masterpiece. You can see several new elements: There is the familiar central bonhomme, to the right some type of smaller bonhomme-ish creature with long legs, and the the left another bonhomme that may or may not have legs and arms.

A detail of the odd creature in the lower right corner. Bebé Trio describes it as a doll.

An upside down shot of the floating bonhomme head. Bebé Trio describes it as a pet.

Here's the complete picture. This is a bonhomme who has gone to bed and is lying under a blanket.

In a shocker, Bebé Trio writes her first word and... and... well words just fail me, perhaps a picture will help!

Bebé Trio drew this bonhomme and said in French, "The man says, 'No!'" "La bonhomme dit 'non!'"

You can see a couple of interesting things in this picture. First, she's drawn a word balloon. Where she got that idea from, I don't know. Second, she has left out a lot of the usual details from her bonhomme -- nose, eyebrows, hair, ears, and limbs. And third, you can see the blue slider at the bottom of the page is part way across the picture. The slider erases the image, and part of the head is missing.

We have another artistic FIRST! I'll let the work speak for itself!

"Dog Pooping"

If you look carefully at the lower right of the dog's body, you'll see three lines coming out below its tail. According to the artist herself, this is poop! Remember, you saw it here first!

Bebé Trio's art skills have been growing by leaps and bounds of late. Let me give you a blow by blow on the infamous Color Doodle! There are lots of 'em -- she loves to draw!

She's been way into dogs lately! I've included some picks of her toy dogs for comparison sake. I invite you to speculate wildly!

She said that this one had "rainbow ears"!

A hot dog! Get it his tongue is hanging out, so he's a "hot dog!" Sometimes I just crack myself up!

Is it Jack? Long time readers will remember that we had a Dalmatian mix named Jack when she was born. Could this be inspired by some distant unconscious infant memory?

Dog model # 1!

Dog model #2!

Check out the eyes on this unfinished bonhomme!

The still unfinished bonhomme with toys and a picture on the wall! She erased it too quickly before I could get a picture of it with arms, hands, hair, ears, and eyebrows!

This one is half erased and the observant will have observed that it is not a dog but a person. Its significance derives from the use of the circle and triangle tools to make the eyes and nose, respectively. I also love the huge ears!

May 16, 2009

This is one of my favorite bonhomme's to date. Maman Trio says it looks like Papa Trio, but you be the judge.

I had considered putting this one in "Firsts" but we have an update for that page finally! But, it is the first time she's drawn something other than a bonhomme or something he's holding. Here's she drawn a sun. And the bonhomme is holding another ball.

We had been eating circles of cheese from waxy plasticky casings earlier and she drew this long tall bonhomme holding one! Check out the scribbling as writing, too!

April 2009

Since getting her sketch pad for Christmas, she's been using it constantly -- or at least when she can wrestle it away from Maman Trio who has fallen for it as well. This is a typical toddler person. I love the lips and eyes especially. Compare this bonhomme with the next two.

I noticed this one one night as we were watching TV. First, there are the ear details and then the hands, but most interesting of all, the bonhomme seems to be holding something. I asked her what it was and she said a ball. Indeed, we'd been playing with a ball a lot that week and that day.

A few days later, she produced this one. I asked her if the bonhomme was thirsty to which she said he was and pointed to the glass of water she'd given him. I love how happy all these bonhommes are!
